Lost City Trek and Tayrona National Park

Today our representatives will be attentive to the arrival of the group that will be part of this fantastic experience, transferring them from the airport to the hotel located on Rodadero Beach. In the afternoon, we will independently explore the center of Santa Marta and take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a delicious dinner, during which we will also discuss trip details.

Meals: Dinner

Santa Marta - Mamey (3 hours by car); Mamey to Camp 1 (4 hours)

From our hotel, we embark on a approximately 3-hour jeep journey to El Mamey, where we will start our approximately 7.6 km (4.7 miles) hike. Halfway through the hike, we will make our first stop at the Three Crosses viewpoint, where we will enjoy delicious fruits and continue to the first cabin "Adán" or "Alfredo" a few minutes later, where we will spend our first night. During this journey, we will enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pools offered by the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Camp 1 to Camp 2 (3 hours); Camp 2 to Mutanyi (20 min.); Mutanyi to Camp 3 "Paraíso Teyuna" (5 hours).

After breakfast, another adventure awaits us. We start our hike/run from the first camp to the second, "Cabaña Wiwa," where we can enjoy a refreshing swim in the Buritaca River while we wait for lunch. After a short break, our adventure continues in the Sierra Nevada, bordering "Mutanyi," an indigenous Kogui village. We will then head to the third camp, "Paraíso Teyuna," where we will spend our second day.

Camp 3 to Lost City (1 h); Tour in the Archaeological Park (3 hours); Camp 3 to Camp 2 (4 hours).

Early in the morning, we will have breakfast and start our 2 km (1.24 miles) journey, beginning the ascent to our goal, Teyuna - Lost City. We will climb 1,200 steps that will take us to this majestic stone settlement with interconnected paths, retaining walls, and circular terraces where the ancient Tayronas' homes rested, all surrounded by a magical forest with its unique flora and fauna. This offers us different views and landscapes ranging from fantastic sunny clearings in the middle of the jungle to cloud forests covered in impressive vegetation. Here, we might encounter the Mamo, leader and protector of Mother Nature. After our tour, we begin our descent to the third camp.

Camp 2 to El Mamey (6 hours) – Transfer to Tayrona Park.

Our adventure in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is coming to an end. After breakfast, you will start a 2-hour hike to the Adán or Alfredo camp (where you slept the first night). Once there, you will have a brief rest (snacks with fruits and water) and continue for another 4 hours back to El Mamey, where you will have lunch and board a 4x4 truck that will take you to our accommodation on Cañaveral Beach within Tayrona Park. Here, we will enjoy a peaceful night.

Optionally, a beach run can be done after breakfast, after which we will return to Santa Marta (3 hours) where our rooms at the hotel will be ready for us. In the evening, we will enjoy our last dinner of the program at a local restaurant in Santa Marta.
